Youths international exchanges

International Youth Exchanges

You want to meet or organize a meet up with other Europeans who are the same age as you, to discover their lifestyle and talk about themes you’re interested in? International Youth Exchanges are made for you!

Europe funds these meetings of young people from different European countries, or from Europe’s neighbours. They can take part in different activities centered on a specific theme in a common language: English! Note: speaking English is not a required condition to go. It will be a good way to dive in the language and learn some vocabulary. Motivation is crucial.

The international exchanges are available for all young people between 13 and 35 years old. The program is called Erasmus + (and replaces Youth in Action). Accommodation and food expenses are 100% covered. A part of the travel expenses are reimbursed at the end of the project after submitting the receipts.

You have to possibilities:

-> You’re between 13 and 17 and want to take part in a International Exchange

Our association is specialised in organizing youth exchanges for people aged 13 to 17 and helps them get to know each other through intercultural meetings, to increase their self-confidence, to find their way in life, to discover other cultures and to live constructive relationships.

Participation in such a project requires the youths to invest themselves ahead of the project : while collaborating with the main facilitator (called leader), they get to know each other and form a team. Together, they prepare the intercultural event during which they will introduce their country to the other nations present. They also suggest some activities and ideas linked with the theme of interchange. Other skills, such as managing a Facebook page and looking for plane tickets or accommodation can come into play… but those can all be learned in the process of creating the project! The youths are accompanied by a certified instructor who’s bilingual in French and English. The instructor becomes the youths’ point of reference during the journey and for the whole duration of the trip.

We also host groups in Belgium and we only send groups abroad during the summer holidays (July-August).

To take part in this kind of project, you need to be a member of the association, which means you need to have paid the membership fee.

-> You’re a youth worker in an association and dream of building a project but you don’t know (yet) how to do it

As a Passport for Life aims to support skills development, we offer training courses to create international youth exchanges.
